Finally found: Gun gun karte badal: Listen song

I heard this on some comedy show where Sonu Nigam sings this song. I liked the way he emulated the voice of great Suresh Wadkar. And I wanted to hear the original score.

The first and natural way to find a song is to google with whatever words Sony Nigam used. So I started my search with "Gun gun karte badal" but could not find anything. That might be because nobody has put lyrics of that song online. In search results I found a song called "Kale kale badal" from movie Anjaane. More about this movie is on Wikipedia.

I found that it's not "gun gun karte badal" it's "gun gun karte bhavare" and the song is "Kale kale bada".

How to Add Remove Labels from multiple posts in a blogger blog?

Normally, when we want to publish a post in a particular category, we open the post in edit mode and add that category as a label for that post. What if you want to add or remove labels from multiple posts after actually publishing them? Here we are going to discuss the same.

First go to your blog’s Edit Posts section as shown below…

You will see a “Label Actions…” dropdown list to upper left corner of the blog-post list.

Initially, when you haven’t selected any post, only Apply Label category will be visible.

When you select any of the post, Remove Label category will also appear with list of all available labels with selected posts.

How to create a new label:

First select at least one post for which you to want apply a new label.

In “Label Actions…” dropdown list, in Apply label category, at the bottom there is an item called New Label. After clicking that item, a input box will appear as shown below.

Enter the desired label text and press OK. The label will appear in Apply Label category in the dropdown list. At the same time it will also be applied to the selected post(s).

How to Apply an existing Label:

Select post(s) for applying the label and click the label in Apply Label category from “Label Actions…” dropdown list

How to remove a label from post(s):

select post(s) from which you want remove a label, then click the label in Remove Label category from “Label Actions…” dropdown list.

This method will help to manage labels associated with posts collectively instead of doing it for individual post.

How to add Author’s name below post title?

If you would like to have it, follow these steps:

1. Open template code. (How?)

2. Find the line

3. The line will look like below

4. Cut the entire <span …> … </span> tag

5. Find the line

6. Paste your cut code just above this line.
7. Save your template.

Date Part 3: How to create calendar like date for Blogger Posts?

Previously, I was not so good with javascript, css but this stuff taught me few lessons. I googled for this but no success. So I tried it my self and what a surprise! I got it worked.

I will show you some simple steps here to create calendar like date for your blogger posts.

Note: This tutorial is written with date format “mmm dd, yyyy”. If you want code for other date format, please comment.

1. Go to customize

2. Go to Layout – > Edit HTML. Check “Expand Widget Templates”

3. find the line containg following text.

Date Part 2: How to change post publishing date to past or future date?

Blogger now enables his bloggers to schedule their post for publishing for some future date. A blogger even can publish his/her post at a past date. Here are some simple steps to do it.

1. Go to Customize

2. Go to Posting. Create new Post or Edit your old post

3. Click on Post options link show in above image.

4. In section “Post date and time”, you can change your date and time of the publishing post.

5. Publish your post and you can see the posted date is the date that you have just set.

Many times the context of the post will be different depending upon the theme subject of the blogs. Tips and trick blogs may want to display text like “ Tips by” or “Tips n Tricks by” or video blogs may want to say “Videos by” before the author name.

Here is how to change the POSTED BY text and set it your won.

2. Find the line

4. Replace this line with the text you want.

e.g. “Hacks By”, “Article from”

5. Save your template. Refresh your blog to see changes.

If you are beginner and you want to customize template from tips from somewhere on the internet. Typically, tips will start with FIND xxxx in your template code or go to EDIT HTML. But the question is where to FIND template code? How to go to EDIT HTML. Here I’m going to show the answers to these questions.

Follow these steps

1. If you haven’t logged in to blogger, please do the honors.

2. At the top right corner you will find customize link as shown below.

3. Click customize link that will take you to new page that will look like as below

4. Select Layout tab –> select Edit HTML –> click the checkbox “Exapand Widget Templates”

5. In the box below you will find your template code which contains CSS, JavaScript and HTML Code.

What is a proxy server?

Proxy server is computer machine or application program that works as mediator between the user’s machine and the entire Internet or any other network.

Proxy server can be computer machine which separates user’s machine from the internet or any other network. It can be application program that is hosted on some machine or even on user’s machine which will take all requests coming from user’s machine, get the response for these requests from the server and render it to the user’s machine.

How proxy server works?

The client connects to the proxy server, requests some service, webpage, connection from the server which client can not access directly.
The proxy server then evaluates the request according to the rules filled into it. Rules may of IP Address filtering, content filtering or protocol filtering.
After request is tested as valid, it is sent to the actual server that it is intended to.
That server returns a response, proxy server collects that response and again applies rules on it, in case of content filtering. If response passes the rules, it is finally given to client.

Why do we need a proxy server?

Proxy server is needed to

surf anonymously: Proxy server hides all machine behind it. This gives the ability to clients to surf anonymously on the internet.
improve performance by caching: It improves performance by caching web pages, images and other commonly used resources from frequently used network resources or websites.
apply security policies: In corporate intranet, only authorized users are allowed to access external resources and others are allowed to access only limited resources. Download from internet and other things are managed by security policies.
apply content policies: In corporate intranet, obscene, violent, adult and social networking content is filtered with these content filtering policies.

Types in C#.Net

In .Net framework everything is a Type. Type can be seen as model/class/template of common features. There are around 300 built-in Value Types and 2500 built-in Reference Types in .Net framework.

When Mike says John is of my Type, this means there is Type of which both Mike and John are instances.

While making bricks, there will be bricks of different sizes. Let’s say Type1 brick is of size 20x20x20 and Type2 is of size 25x25x20. So if one makes 30 bricks of Type1 and 50 of Type2 in a day. Form this anybody can understand, that 30 bricks of size 20x20x20 and 50 of size 25x25x20 are getting manufactured in day.

Similarly, in .Net if one declares a variable counter of Type int, this suggests that this variable is Value Type, will occupy 4 bytes of memory and it can take values between –2,147,483,648 to +2,147,483,647.

If one declares a variable myStream of Type FileStream, it characterizes the myStream variable with all the characteristics that FileStream class has.

Visit Blogger.com
If you have a Google Account, it's good.
Select language of your choice. Sign in with your account credentials.

After Signing in the Blogger sign up process will show up. The first step is to fill in Display name and accepting terms of service. If you want to use different Google account for Blogger sign up there is link in upper right corner. Use this link to sign in with a different account. Once you are sure with the data entered here, Click on Continue.

Second step is to choose a name for your blog. This name can be anything of your choice. After entering blog name you need to specify a unique url that others can use to access your blog. Next is to choose skin/template for your blog.

When I heard somebody saying, "Hey! read this on my blog", "What awesome video blog it is!" I was wondering what this blog thing is exactly and why people are so crazy about it. Then I myself tried to answer this question and here is the answer that I got.

What is Blog?
Broadly speaking, Blog is website of usually large collection of static HTML web pages as compared to regular average websites. By static, I mean there is almost no processing on the servers on which blog is hosted. The blog is not necessarily be just personal. There are personal blogs, business blogs, community blogs, photo blogs, technical blogs and many more types of blogs. All the blog contents including text, images, videos and other types of media for the blog is maintained by a individual or a group individuals. It's a way of social interaction with the community. It's diary for a person in case of Personal blogs which he/she can shared with family and friends.

Generally, blog is personal in nature but not necessary. An individual expresses his/her thoughts on a particular aspect of one's life. Subjects for blogs are anything under the sun. A chapter of a blog is called as a "blog post" or simply "post". All the blog posts are arranged in reverse-chronological order, that means most recent post will displayed at the top. Anybody reading blog post can comment on the topic discussed in the post. This starts a discussion thread among the reader of the blog including author. Both posts and comments can be subscribed - RSS Syndication - so that you doesn't have to go to author's blog every time, if you are reading lots of blogs daily.
